Our pastor, Rev. David Bachelor, teaches from what he holds to be true about the Christian
faith and the human condition. Provided below is a brief summary of his beliefs:
I believe in the Living God. This one God has always existed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created people and all that exists by a direct, immediate act. I believe that at a single moment in history, the first people chose to rebel against God, eternally separating themselves from His paradise. Their legacy of rebellion has been passed down to each person born of a human mother and father. I believe that God sent His Son into human history in order to restore what was lost. Jesus is this Son. He was born of a virgin. Because of the extraordinary nature of His birth, He did not carry the inheritance of rebellion. Nor did He ever rebel or sin against God. He did not have to die, yet He willingly went to His death on the cross as a substitute for each and every person who would recognize His sacrifice. Unless a person apologizes to God, and asks for Jesus' sacrifice to be applied to their own life, they will not be able to enter into God's paradise. Instead they will face permanent punishment in the life that follows this life. I believe God raised Jesus from the dead, and that after a period of time, Jesus ascended into heaven. In the fullness of time, Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead. Since Jesus' ascension, God has sent the Holy Spirit to be His continuing presence in those who believe in His Son, Jesus. Through the Holy Spirit, believers are able to demonstrate the power of God through miracles in the same way that Jesus did. I believe the Holy Spirit changes each person who trusts Jesus. This change means they are better able to please God, and understand His Word. I believe the Bible is the Word of God, and all parts of the Bible are from God. God has provided the Bible so that the church and the individual believer would know how to live their lives. |
